Our midwifery program
The CNMs in our practices partner with you for your long-term healthcare needs.
Midwifery services
A midwife can provide a wide range of women's health services, including:
- Adolescent health care
- Birth control counseling and management
- Family planning
- Maternity services, including prenatal, childbirth and postnatal care
- Menopause management
- Wellness education
- Well-woman exams
Maternity services
When you choose a midwife as your prenatal care provider, they provide you with comprehensive support—from the moment you find out you're pregnant to even after you take your baby home. This includes:
- Prenatal care
- Birth planning
- Labor and delivery support
- Postpartum care
- Newborn wellness education
Midwives typically care for women experiencing routine or low-risk pregnancies, partnering with a obstetrician-gynecologist (OB/GYN) as needed. Throughout your pregnancy and birth experience, your CNM tailors their services to your needs.
Our CNMs partner with our network's hospital-based birth centers throughout Florida. This means you can receive midwifery support during labor and delivery, with a full-service hospital available, should you need it.
Our certified nurse midwives
HCA Florida Physicians has a rigorous process for ensuring our women's health specialists can deliver expert care to every patient. Our midwives are no exception.
The CNMs at our practices have extensive nursing and midwifery experience. In fact, many of them had long nursing careers before deciding to proceed with education and training in midwifery care.
To every patient's care, our midwives bring compassion, understanding and an entire network of resources.
